INTRODUCTION
Paragon Analytics is a full service, client-oriented environmental and radiochemistry testing laboratory. We are a division of DataChem Laboratories, Inc. of Salt Lake City, Utah. Our capabilities include: radiochemistry, mixed waste, explosives, organics, metals, and general chemistry analyses. Paragon holds extensive state and federal certifications for these capabilities, and our radioactive materials license levels are among the highest of all laboratories in the State of Colorado.
FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT
Paragon Analytics houses a 26,500 square foot laboratory with 14,000 square feet dedicated to radiochemistry analyses and 11,000 square feet dedicated to organic, inorganic, and mixed waste analyses. The entire facility has been licensed by the State of Colorado to receive and handle radioactively contaminated samples. The facility was designed to maximize efficient, trace-level operations. Each laboratory is equipped with dedicated conditioned air intake and exhaust systems in order to minimize cross contamination. The facility maintains a reference library of environmental regulations, analytical methods, and SOPs for each method performed. All major instruments are computer linked to facilitate data reduction and reporting. Paragon's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is used for sample tracking, work scheduling, status reporting, data reporting, and electronic data deliverable (EDD) reporting.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Paragon Analytics has supported more than 500 clients by analyzing potentially hazardous and/or radioactive samples from groundwater monitoring, landfill evaluation, and RCRA closures. Samples have been comprised of various matrices including: air, water, soil, industrial wastes, oils, solvents, sludges, sediments, biological tissue, and plant tissue. Laboratory personnel have the expertise to analyze these matrices.
